Eagles on Highway
Some signs are for you. And some signs aren’t for you.
This sign on Eastbound Interstate 70 in eastern Utah doesn’t seem to be for me. I have pondered and pondered it for several years since first seeing it. Carefully noted its location about 1 mile east of the Moab turnoff. Slowed down to try to get a decent picture.
Looked for the corresponding sign on the Westbound I-70. Discovered it is nearly 40 MILES to the east!
I confess, it is a mystery. What am I supposed to DO about the “Eagles on Highway”?
Someday I’ll steal this sign and hang it on the wall in the Wanderlust Cafe. Where it might make a whole lot more sense after imbibing some wine or hibiscus juice.
– with love for the journey.

You sound like a person who thinks with every fiber of her being! I love it! When I first saw your picture of the sign, I thought, Wow what an awesome sign.. something you dont see everyday. But I think it is wonderful that you took it a step further and pondered its reason for being. You can look at the sign and come up with a logical reason for its existance. But at the same time none of us think alike and you have demonstrated this in such a creative way. Once you mentioned that the sign was not ment for you, I saw it in a whole new light. That is what I like about reading these posts. They help you think outside of the box in a world that is constantly trying to create bounderies. Btw.. I love the idea of you stealing the sign and placing it in Wanderlust Cafe! You are truely a creative soul!
